    FRACTURE CARE & TRAUMATIC INJURIES Orthopedic trauma is a branch of orthopedic medicine related to injuries of the bones, joints, and soft tissues following a traumatic event. At Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Care, our highly trained specialists are prepared to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries ranging in severity from simple sports-related fractures to multiple complex fractures sustained after a high-speed collision. Typically orthopedic trauma is divided into four categories: long bone fractures, fractures involving the joint, pelvic fractures, and fractures involving the hand or foot. Unfortunately, some of these injuries may not heal properly without surgical intervention. DANIEL TROY, MD Board Certified & Fellowship Trained in Multiple Orthopedic Specialties, Specializes in Spinal Surgery, Shoulders, Knees, Total Joint Replacement, Orthopedic Trauma & Fracture Care​ Dr. Troy received his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in electrical engineering and his medical degree from Rush Medical College. He finished his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. ​ ​ Dr. Troy completed his fellowship training at the Hughston Sports Medicine Hospital in Columbus, Georgia where he focused on sports medicine injuries. He then went on to pursue further fellowship training in spinal surgery at the renowned Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky. ​ ​ Dr. Troy serves several academic positions instructing orthopedic residents from the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center and Midwestern Osteopathic Orthopedic residents. He also mentors medical students, emergency medicine residents and family practice residents. ​ ​ Apart from this, Dr. Troy is involved in several research projects regarding the spine and sports injuries. ​ It should be noted that Dr. Troy is very passionate about helping patients in the workers’ compensation industry. PAUL DANIELSKY, MD Board Certified & Fellowship Trained in Adult Joint Replacement & Reconstruction Dr. Danielsky received his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Kalamazoo College and his medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Western Michigan University School of Medicine and his fellowship at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in adult reconstruction. ​ ​ Dr. Danielsky has a special interest in revision arthroplasty and is eager to help new patients through these complex procedures. He continues to explore opportunities to further his professional development, most recently with several fellow-level courses and an Oxford partial knee replacement course. Dr. Danielsky has extensive experience in total hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic assisted surgery, and is MAKO certified. He is experienced in anterior hip arthroplasty, unicompartmental (partial) joint replacement, including patella-femoral replacement, and hip arthroscopy. ​ ​ Dr. Danielsky grew up in West Michigan in the Grand Rapids area. In his spare time, he enjoys being active by hiking and biking and spending time with family and friends. He also volunteers at local schools as the team physician. DANA BERNS, DPM Podiatric Surgery and Podiatric Medicine Board Certified in Foot, Ankle, and Reconstructive Rearfoot Surgery Dr. Berns joined Advanced Orthopedic and Spine Care in September 2018 as a specialist in the operative and nonoperative treatment of foot and ankle disorders. She received training in all aspects of the foot and ankle and has a special interest in diabetic foot care and education, limb salvage, wound care, sports medicine, bunion correction, ankle arthroscopy, fracture care, & complex forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery. ​ Dr. Berns earned her bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Loyola University Chicago and a doctorate degree in Podiatric Medicine from the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 2015. Dr. Berns completed a three-year surgical residency in trauma and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago. ​ Dr. Berns believes that the best patient outcomes come from fostering a patient-doctor relationship focused on trust, and individualizing care for each patient. She is able to speak four languages (English, Russian, Polish and Spanish), which allows for stronger communication and comprehensive patient care. KHALED ALMANSOORI Board Certified & Fellowship Trained in Orthopedic Trauma and Reconstruction, Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery, and Spinal Surgery Dr. Almansoori completed his first fellowship in Orthopedic Trauma and Reconstruction Surgery at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. Following this, he then pursued a Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship with a focus on spinal and skeletal deformity care at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. In order to broaden his field of expertise, he then undertook a third fellowship in Adult Spinal Surgery from the University of Calgary to incorporate more minimally invasive techniques and provide a tailored range of modern options when caring for adult and pediatric spinal and skeletal deformities. ​ Apart from his work experience, Dr. Almansoori invests a large portion of his free time to teaching, medical education, volunteer work, and clinical research. Dr. Almansoori holds a Master's degree in Health Science Education, is the Educational Development Director of the Canadian Orthopedic Association's Basic Science Course for resident-trainees, mentors medical students and residents in orthopedic care.     PHYSICAL THERAPY The AOSC Physical Therapy Department treats a variety of surgical and nonsurgical musculoskeletal conditions. Our therapists have years of clinical experience and advanced training to ensure that each patient receives an effective treatment plan personalized to meet their specific needs. AOSC clinicians will not only assist with patient recovery but will also provide home-based exercise programs to minimize the risk of future injury. He went on to earn his doctorate in PT in 2004. Mike brings 20+ years of outpatient orthopedic experience to AOSC, where he treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions. Robert Philipps PT, MOMT Robert started practicing physical therapy in 1986 as a PTA. He went on to earn his PT degree from Florida International University in 1990. Robert has a strong manual therapy background and completed a 2-year residency program in manual therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute in 1999. JILL STULGA MPT Jill has been practicing outpatient orthopedic PT since receiving her master’s degree in physical therapy in 2000. She has an extensive background in manual therapy and has a passion for the functional strengthening programs. She has a strong interest in working with the athletic population. She also enjoys working with many types of patients, welcoming any orthopedic diagnosis. NICK PICOT PTA Nick brings over 25 years of clinical experience to Advanced Orthopedic & Spine Care. As a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, he stays current with evidence-based approaches in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. He utilizes his strong manual background in addressing spinal disorders, complex shoulder imbalances and sports-related injuries of all ages. Nick is also fluent in Spanish which offers a comforting experience for his diverse patients. In addition, he has a very strong personal interest in all things health and fitness. JESSICA FRAGA PTA Jessica graduated from Fox College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program in 2016. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has a strong interest in the rehab process for knee and shoulder injuries. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese., text and links, or connect data from your collection. ​ DeAnna Boyce PTA ​ DeAnna is a graduate of Fox College in Tinley Park. She enjoys working with all types of orthopedic diagnoses and from pediatric to geriatric patients. She also has an interest in neurological rehabilitation.
